Feb. 13-22 representatives from CAN partner communities in Latin America will be at the University of California, Santa Cruz, for 10 days of trainings, events, and activities. This is a wonderful and rare opportunity for students and members of the public to get to know and meet some of the people involved in CAN's work. The events at El Intercambio will offer plenty of food for thought and ample information about CAN's Field Study and Field Course programs.

Ten rural community organizers, ranging in age from 19-43 years old, received scholarships through CAN’s Nicaragua Scholarship Fund to continue their education. Scholarships supported them in paying for school fees, materials, transportation, and lunches during the 2011 school year. The fund helped two students attend secondary school, and eight students attend technical school or university.
