Organic Coffee Cooperative in Yucul
The Organic Coffee Cooperative of Yucul, Matagalpa received official status on the 15th of April 1997. It was formed by 33 small-scale coffee farmers who were looking for a way to commercialize certified organic coffee. Learn more
Danilo Gonzalez Cooperative
The "Danilo Gonzalez" cooperative in La Reyna received official status on the 6th September 1986, when after many years, all of the foreign interests had long gone. When the last owners had abandoned their land, when the community was left without work opportunities and when the much of the land had been stripped bare. Learn more
El Privilegio Cooperative
The all women's cooperative in the community of El Roblar chose the name "El Privilegio" because it is a privilege for these women to live, manage and commercialize their own coffee and participate in a strong female cooperative. Learn more
Denis Gutierrez Cooperative
Gold was first discovered in 1808 in a place called La Leonesa, which is just a kilometer from the community of La Pita, on the dirt road that winds up to the community. This was the first place in the municipal where gold was mined and it was not long after this that gold mines were discovered in La Pita and the surrounding communities. Learn more
Daniel Teller Paz Cooperative
Small scale farmers in the community of El Roblar cultivate their coffee at altitudes of about 950 meters. El Roblar is part of the region of Yasica Sur, which is a very humid and tropical zone. Learn more
