Participatory Research
At the heart of participatory research lies a simple commitment: to combine research and action for social change. Relationships between researchers and the communities they partner with are cul
tivated over decades in many cases, with the goal of empowering communities and spreading new knowledge.
Each of CAN’s partner communities is represented by a researcher liaison who has established a long-term relationship with member-based organizations in the community. Together the researcher, organization and farmer members address questions related to sustainable farming systems.
