The John Halliday Community Fund

The John Halliday Community Fund

The Community Fund awards low interest loans and small grants to CAN's partner organizations in Latin America for improvements and educational programs that promote economic and ecological sustainability. From workshops on organic production and tree planting, to purchasing an ecological processing mill, this fund has helped provide the money to meet the partners' goals. Your donation puts the JHCF into action. Your donation makes the difference. Currently the JHCF is supporting projects and scholarships with CAN’s partners in Mexico and Nicaragua.

About John Halliday

The Community Fund was established by five individual donors who strongly support the Fund as a source of low-interest loans and small grants for environmental improvements. In 2008 it was named as a memorial to John Halliday, one of the Fund Founders. John Halliday, aka "Johnny coffee bean," believed in providing opportunities for everyone to pursue their entrepreneurial spirit. He was also known for sending gifts of coffee to friends, family and new acquaintances as well. John passed away on December 25, 2007.

You can honor John's memory and directly help fund cooperative-based projects by donating to the John Halliday Community Fund.
